Celebrating Literature

The Upper Elementary children enjoy gathering on Thursday and Friday afternoons for literature circle. Each week, they meet in small groups to discuss whatever book they are reading, study the characters, vocabulary and other interesting aspects of the story and share their connections to what is happening to the characters. Once the children finish the book, they plan a special activity with Miss Beth, their reading specialist.

What a fun way to celebrate all of their hard work!

After reading, Riding Freedom, Miss Beth and some of her students visited a horse stable where they were able to experience all of the delights in caring for a horse just like the main character in their story did.
