RMS Endowment Fund
Started in 2004, the Racine Montessori School Endowment Fund is managed by the Racine Community Foundation. The Endowment Fund began with proceeds from the first RMS "Roots To The Future" Wine Tasting event held at DeKoven Center in January 2004 and by generous donations made by parents, alumni, staff, and members of the Racine community. The purpose of an endowment fund is to ensure the longevity of an organization; RMS has been in the Racine community for 40+ years and the endowment fund will help ensure that it is around for generations to come. How Does An Endowment Fund Work? An endowment fund is a fund set up by a non-profit organization for perpetual growth. The monies donated to the fund never leave the fund. These monies are the principal. The interest earned on the principal are paid out to the non-profit agency. The more money that is donated to grow the fund, the more interest can be earned and given back to the non-profit. An endowment is for long-term growth, not for short-term projects. If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the RMS Endowment Fund, please contact the Racine Community Foundation at 262.632.8474. |
